Working on further development of skills and qualities in a personal way

Coaching on the job

Coaching on the job is an intensive form of guidance.
Working on the further development of skills and qualities in a personal way. This form of individual coaching is suitable for all managers and/or self-employed entrepreneurs. ‘Coaching on the job’ is a form of individual coaching in which the coach guides you at your workplace. The coach analyzes your work situation and links this to your question as a coachee.

The coach observes functioning and the dynamics within the work environment. How does someone interact with colleagues, supervisors, potential clients, and/or third parties? Through feedback and mirroring behavior, the coach makes the person aware of ineffective behavior and pitfalls. Coaching on the job is also ideal for situations where someone keeps encountering the same problems but cannot determine exactly what is causing them.

With the help of ‘Coaching on the job’, you develop yourself in a short period of time in a way that suits you. After a personal intake interview, the plan of action is determined in consultation. In ‘Coaching on the job’, we work towards independence instead of dependence.

Approach ‘Coaching on the Job’
‘t Eiland Coaching provides ‘Coaching on the Job’ at your own workplace. This can be in the office, on the work floor, or during a meeting and/or presentation. The coach observes you while you work and gives you feedback on your working methods in a face-to-face conversation. Together, we reflect on your behavior and work on improving your performance. In addition, we make your strengths and unused potential visible.
With ‘Coaching on the Job’, you work concretely on achieving and maintaining your desired goals. The coaching process focuses on exploring and utilizing your (unused and unknown) possibilities. You learn to turn limiting thoughts into helpful ones, so you can achieve your goals in a lasting way. Along the way, we discuss whether we are still on track and adjust the approach where necessary. The goal remains to actually achieve the desired result.

Basic Approach
‘Coaching on the job’ is always tailored to the individual; depending on the specific request for help, the timeline of the coaching can be adjusted as needed. The basic approach consists of 3 sessions of 3 hours and 5 sessions of 2 hours.

  • During the 3 sessions of 3 hours, we map out the coachee’s qualities, (leadership style), knowledge, and work patterns.
  • During the following 5 sessions of 2 hours, we work intensively on the specific request for help and objectives, which will be entirely different for each coachee depending on the mapped qualities, knowledge, and work patterns.

At the end of a coaching program, an evaluation takes place. In between, you will receive (limited) homework assignments to make as much use as possible of your own practice. During the training, regular reflection takes place on the developments.
